The Think New Grant aims to support students who want to create a better future. Funded by Education New Zealand the grant is for $5,000 to go toward a student project.

THINK NEW GRANT


In New Zealand we believe that in order to create a better future, we need new ideas, new solutions, and new ways of thinking.
We know we have amazing international students here in New Zealand working on incredible things, from creative arts to environmental studies. Now we want to learn about you, your project, and how you’re working to make things better.
The Think New Grant is our way of celebrating you and helping you meet your goals.

Eligibility:

This grant is open to international students over the age of 16 currently enrolled at a New Zealand high school; and international students over the age of 18 currently enrolled at a New Zealand educational institution. 

International students under 18 who wish to apply (and are between 16-18 at time of application), must have the application form filled out on their behalf by a guardian/parent/teacher.

NZD $5,000

Selection Criteria:

Education New Zealand is looking to support projects that demonstrate passion, innovation, new thinking, and the potential to have a positive impact. 

Required Documents/Information:

You'll be required to make a short (maximum 2 minutes) video and provide the URL.  In the video you will tell us
  1. About yourself and your idea, research or project.
  2. How your New Zealand education has enabled you to Think New and develop a vision or passion for your idea, research, project.
  3. About the people in your life that have influenced or contributed to your idea, research or project (family, classmates, tutors, lecturers, supervisors, employers).
  4. How the $5000 grant would assist you in your project.
