About the Dream NEW Scholarship

Please note: If you have received a DAAD or a Promos scholarship, you may not apply for the Dream NEW scholarship.

The “Dream NEW” scholarship is for students from Europe to undertake a one semester undergraduate study experience in New Zealand (Study Abroad). This scholarship has been designed for European students who dream big, crave adventure and set their sights on new horizons. It is for those wanting to realise their vision in the forward-thinking education climate of New Zealand – a country where innovation flourishes, and where people from all over the world come together to follow their dreams.

A New Zealand education encourages you to be open minded, creative and to dream new.

Dream NEW recipients become Kiwi Ambassadors and help Education New Zealand take the New Zealand study experience to the world. As a Kiwi Ambassador, students will be asked to contribute Instagram photos and have the option of blogging during their semester in New Zealand. Education New Zealand looks forward to working with the Kiwi Ambassadors to share a truly memorable #StudyinNZ experience.

Applicants must meet ALL the following criteria:

Must be a EU (or Norway or Switzerland) citizen or hold EU (or Norway or Switzerland) resident status for at least two years
Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application
Be currently enrolled at a tertiary institution in one of the eligible countries in Europe
Meet the entry criteria to enrol in a study abroad programme
Must not be a holder of a DAAD or Promos scholarship that relates to this study in New Zealand

Required Documents/Information:

To complete this application, you will need to upload the following documents:

Resume/Curriculum Vitae
Copy of the photo ID page of your passport
Copy of your EU or Norway or Switzerland Resident Visa (for non-EU citizens only)
Official transcript showing grades received to date in your current qualification
A scan of the certificate/s of English language proficiency you hold (e.g. TOEFL, IELTS, DAAD,university tests etc.), or a letter from your current European university, confirming your English language proficiency

You will also need to provide the name and email of one referee for a reference as follows:

Professor (or Assistant Professor) at your home institution in Europe, or
Study Abroad Advisor at your home institution in Europe
