The New Zealand Future Scholarship is for middle and high school students from Korea to study at a New Zealand school for a minimum of ten weeks.  Future proof yourself for success with a New Zealand Education!  If you want to prepare for the future with one of the world's best education systems, then this scholarship is for you.  New Zealand schools offer a new way of learning and a wide range of subjects that will help you gain creativity and critical thinking for the future skills you want.

New Zealand's education system takes a high-quality, innovative teaching approach in a safe learning environment. Students enjoy personal attention from passionate teachers and a balance of theoretical and practical learning. Our schools encourage students to think creatively and independently, allowing every student to reach their potential.

There are two New Zealand Future scholarships available for middle or high school students.  Each scholarship provides up to a maximum NZ$15,000 (approximately KRW 11,250,000) to contribute to school tuition fees, school-related costs and living expenses.  Funds may also go towards flights within New Zealand.

Scholars must study in New Zealand for a minimum of one school term (ten weeks), commencing in October 2019 at the latest.

Students can begin scholarship on any of the following dates:

Term 1: Starts Monday 27 January and Friday 7 February.  Ends Thursday 9 April.
Term 2: Starts Tuesday 28 April.  Ends Friday 3 July.
Term 3: Starts Monday 20 July.  Ends Friday 25 September.
Term 4: Starts Monday 12 October.  Ends no later than Wednesday 16 December for secondary and composite schools.

뉴질랜드 미래장학금은 2명의 학생을 선발할 계획입니다. 각 장학금은 학비, 기타 학교 관련 비용 및 생활비를 지원할수 있도록 인당 최대 15,000 뉴질랜드 달러(한화 약 1,125만원 상당) 까지 지원 가능합니다.

장학생은 최소 1학기 (10주) 이상 뉴질랜드 학교에서 공부할수 있어야 하며 늦어도 2020년 10월에는 공부를 시작해야 합니다.

장학생은 아래 해당학기 중 하나를 선택하여 뉴질랜드에서 공부를 시작할수 있습니다.

1학기: 2020년 1월 27일– 4월 9일

2학기: 2020년 4월 28일 -7월 3일

3학기: 2020 년 7월 20일 -9월 25일

4학기: 2020년 10월 12일-12월 16일

지원 조건:
  • 한국에 있는 중학교 및 고등학교 재학생
  • 대한민국 국적자
  • 장학금 지원 시점 기준 만 13세-17세
  • 늦어도 2020년 10월 이전부터 최소 한학기 이상 뉴질랜드에서 공부할수 있는 자 

장학금 금액
장학금 금액은 최대 15,000 뉴질랜드 달러입니다. 장학금은 뉴질랜드 학교 학비, 학교관련 부대 비용을 포함합니다. 만약 수여된 장학금 내에서 여유가 된다면 뉴질랜드에서의 생활비 및 국내선 항공비용으로 지출 될 수도 있습니다.

선발 기준
뉴질랜드 미래 장학금 장학생 선발 위원회 위원들은 뉴질랜드에서 본인의 미래를 준비하고자 하는 동기를 분명하게 보여주는 후보자들을 선호합니다.  장학금 지원자들은 뉴질랜드 교육이 가져다 줄수 있는 장점에 대해 적극적으로 조사 연구하고 어떻게 뉴질랜드에서 받은 교육을 잘 활용하여 미래를 준비할지에 대해 보여주어야 합니다.


요구 서류 및 정보
지원자는 아래의 정보를 제공해야 합니다. 
  • 대한민국 국적자임을 증명할수 있는 서류 – 대한민국 여권 사본
  • 최대 2분 상당의 짧은 동영상의 URL 제출

o  자기소개, 뉴질랜드에서 공부하고 싶은 분야와 왜 본인이 장학생으로 선발되어야 하는지에 대한 내용,이미지,오디오 포함. 

o  뉴질랜드 교육진흥청의 다양한 디지털 자료를 통해 뉴질랜드 고등학교에 대한 정보 수집 과정과 정보활용의 모습

You need to complete an online application in English only.

온라인 신청서 작성은 영문으로만 가능합니다.

Eligibility:


To apply, you must
  • Be in Korean middle school or high school, and 
  • Be a legal citizen of the Republic of Korea, and
  • Be aged between 13 and 17 years at the time of application, and
  • Be able to take up the New Zealand Future Scholarship for a minimum of one school term (10 weeks), commencing no later than October 2020

Value of the Award:

The award is up to a maximum of $15,000 NZD. The Scholarship must be used towards your New Zealand High School fees, school-related costs, and, if funds permit, also used towards living expenses and domestic flights within New Zealand. 

Selection Criteria:

The selection panel are looking for candidates who clearly demonstrate they are motivated to come to New Zealand to prepare themselves for their future. They have researched the benefits of a New Zealand education and know what they want to get out of it.

  • Proof you are a Korean national, e.g. screenshot of passport
  • Provide the URL to a short video (max two minutes):
  • include content, images and audio that introduce yourself, the skill you want to learn or improve in New Zealand and why you think you are the right candidate to be awarded this scholarship 
  • demonstrate your efforts to collect information on New Zealand secondary schools via Education New Zealand's digital platforms below or other channels (e.g. meeting with an agent)
