International Student Hardship Fund (2020)

The Government has established a $1 million hardship grant fund for international students to address urgent, temporary needs, for example temporary inability to access cash or because of reduced part-time employment. We welcome applications from education providers and organisations to apply for grants of up to $20,000 (GST exclusive) to enable you to provide eligible international students with direct financial relief or other support, including food parcels and support towards living costs.

The Government has established a $1 million hardship grant fund for international students to address urgent, temporary needs, for example temporary inability to access cash or because of reduced part-time employment. We welcome applications from education providers and organisations to apply for grants of up to $20,000 (GST exclusive) to enable you to provide eligible international students with direct financial relief or other support, including food parcels and support towards living costs.

It is possible to make repeat applications, once your previous allocation of funds has been spent and your reporting requirements have been completed. Please do not submit an additional application until this has been completed. Applications can be made from 21 May until funding has been allocated. Assessment of applications will be completed within five working days. Notification of application outcome will be by email, as will confirmation of distribution of funds. Please ensure you submit your application as soon as you have completed it, so that we can assess your application in a timely manner.
